| DESCRIPTION Thyis is an intimidating man when he takes on a human form which he has grown more accustomed to over the past few years after spending time in Nemaria. He has a very muscular body with broad shoulders and an inverted triangle shaped body. His features are generally quite rough and whilst he doesn't appear savage, it's clear he doesn't give a damn about what he looks like within the Keep. Thyis has mid-length dark brown hair that he usually slicks back. He also has a dark, rough stubble growing. He has tanned, olive-coloured skin. His eyes are onyx coloured and contain no emotion whatsoever, though when he uses his magic they turn a bright red colour. He wears very casually clothing consisting of old, plain coloured shirts and casual trousers. In his human form, Thyis has strong powers of chaos manipulation. He is also capable of a weak version of necromancy in human form and give others an illusion of feeling pain. In his demonic form, Thyis is a spiritual demon, and not a physical one. He has appears as a black figure vaguely humanoid figure with burning, fiery eyes. As a spirit he is able to teleport over varying distances and has a malleable anatomy. As well this, he has amplified powers over illusion, necromancy and darkness (his level over chaos manipulation remains the same). It is in this form that he is able to possess the bodies of others, however it is also in this form that he is most vulnerable to daylight and to light magic. Hence he rarely risks using this form whilst outside of West Cliff Pass as he exposed to light magic used by man and elf, or if he does he is more likely to do so at night time. PERSONALITY Thyis is referred to all over Nemaria and other Seelie and Unseelie-influenced areas alike as the incarnation and embodiment of fear, terror and sin. And whilst, Thyis won't bother denying the pleasure he takes in inducing pain onto others and watching others suffer he will not say it is without cause and to him this feels like justice. Everyone knows that Thyis, like all demons, knows hatred, rage, sadism and he knows jealousy, but unbeknownst to others demons are also capable of feelings to and can experience other emotions too, such as love, loss, pain and altruism. It is nought but a racist lie bred amongst the humans and the fey that demons do not feel anything 'positive' or have no moral conscious. Only demons have a far more complex condition than other creatures and so cannot afford to embody all good traits and are just misunderstood. Thyis himself, is a demon of extraordinary cunning and strategy as commanding a legion of demon is not easy, especially getting them out of West Cliff Pass which is surrounded by fey and other human barriers. He is very manipulative and a convincing liar, his powers over illusions also give him the advantage of being able to make others believe him fully whilst they are under his influence. Thyis is also a brilliant negotiator and often can deal bargains with mortals for very low prices in return for all they have to offer. Being 500 years old, Thyis has learnt the art and benefits of patience and whilst others may not be able to wait over 300 years to execute revenge, Thyis can. Around others, Thyis knows he is dominant to others and isn't afraid to show it. He will wipe his feet on others if he wishes to and others rarely oppose him openly. and whilst he is not ignorant of the fact that almost everyone wants him out of Nemaria, though truthfully doesn't care. He has what he wants and when he wants. He is generally very suave and relaxed and surprisingly social. He is also a master of seduction and knows how to get a woman into bed. It just takes a while for the more civilised people of his entourage to get used to his tastes. Though talking to Thyis can be a little frustrating as he comes across as someone who doesn't give a damn about anything. And for the most part he doesn't care for the problems of others. He has his own and no one cares so he does unto others as they do to him. Economic, social and political problems do not interest him either as it has been a long time since he was ever involved in anything of the sort. He prefers to just let live life as it is, in it's natural and chaotic state. STRENGTHS Thyis' magic and powers are his biggest strength, and he has yet to meet the person who will rival his powers. Even for a demon, his powers are very strong. Though he is looking for someone to match him and awaits the day he does. His low cunning and patience is also a major strength of his as well as his willingness to play dirty which as unfair as it may be, gives him the results. And that's all that matters at the end of the day. He may not outwardly show it as well, but there are people he cares about on this planet and his loyalty to them even if it is hidden is also a positive trait of Thyis'. WEAKNESSES Thyis' need to feed off the souls and happiness of others is a necessity for him to survive and he grows too weak without it. Though the thirst is both something he welcomes now but resents as well. His weakness in the face of light magic is a big problem for him, especially when he is in a land where hundreds of people practise such magic. In his human form he is more resistant to such magic but his own powers are a lot weaker. In demonic form, he is also unable to go into the sunlight too long without giving himself serious damage. The fact that Thyis feels the need to push most people away, not get involved or just doesn't want to express his feelings means that he has very few friends (outside of demons) and when the day comes and he needs help, there is very little chance he will actually get any. HISTORY Thyis, unlike many demons was not a demon from birth. In fact, he was an elf once upon a time, a practitioner of light magic and held control over the element of water. Growing up, he was an exceedingly strong and well-read individual as well as highly respected amongst his people. He was the pride of his kingdom and wasn't afraid to show it. He seemed to have it all; looks, brains and brawns. Though in his success and prosperity he began to grow arrogant. At the age of twenty, he already had a long line of suitors at his door and he chose a young, beautiful yet modest and wise she-elf to be his bride. They were happily wed for thirty years and she even bore him a child. Thyis trained hard to become an exemplary warrior within his city and was appointed captain of the guard, his magic and skill with a sword was well beyond the average elf. It was a few years after his promotion that he would be confronted by a pair of demons that were causing more trouble than usual. Within his kingdom, and quite a few others at the time, demons roamed freely keeping the balance between life that was provided by the elves and death provided by the demons. Ying and yang, if you like. Though every now and then both elves and demons had to be put in their place and this was one such moment. Thyis and his patrol ventured to confront the demons but were caught in a surprise attack from the group. Thyis' partners were killed quickly, but after a long fight Thyis had to submit and himself was given a different fate. He was turned from elf to demon and his powers over light turned into those of darkness and chaos. Confused, scared and unable to understand what had happened to him, he ran and hid for days trying to suppress the thirst he had newly acquired for draining the life of something, of anything. He was reported dead to his family, who grieved over him and it took Thyis weeks before he found the courage to confront his wife about his change, hoping she'd understand. His appearance had changed and his magic had shifted but he was still the same man he had been when he had last seen her. It took his wife a long few hours but she eventually settled down with him. Relieved, Thyis was glad that despite it all, he could still hold on to what he had and for that one instant, there was hope. Though that hope, trust and loyalty would eventually be betrayed by his wife who attempted to murder her husband. Thyis couldn't understand what he had done to deserve this and feeling angry at his wife for being unable to accept him as a demon and the rage and shock that sparked within him from her attempt to take his life caused him to use his powers against her, killing her within minutes and with relative ease. This was the first time he had seen what he looked like in his demonic form and it scared him. So he did what he could and ran, leaving his little girl behind to be taken into the care of someone who could care properly for her. For the next couple of decades, he roamed the lands as a demon taking life when it was needed and getting by in solitude, refusing to talk to other demons never mind the elves. Later, a law abolishing demons from residing in any of the realms was passed and they were banished to the dark, barren and harsh land of West Cliff Pass. Demons couldn't die but they had nothing to feed on and they were left weak and powerless against the defences that the elves and the humans put up against them. Thyis languished with the demons, and started spending more time with the people. He came to realise that they were not so different to him. Many of them had children and wives and had all been banished to an eternity of suffering and pain for no crime greater than being born or turned a demon. And having spent the time with them, Thyis began to question the sentence that was passed. He and the demons spent over 300 years planning carefully how they would get back to the land of the living and Thyis no longer cared what happened to the fey or the humans back there. They had been unreasonably cruel to do this to the demons, and they would be repaid mercilessly. So saving up his strength, he managed to get the attention of the Unseelie and granted them an offer for absolute power should they help getting the demons out of West Cliff Pass. The rivalry between Seelie and Unseelie only made the entire bargain much easier and Thyis returned to the demons triumphant. Everything had been planned and now they only had to wait. Grateful for their freedom and the chance to properly live again, they made Thyis their King and it was he who led them out of West Cliff Pass and into Nemaria to fulfil the bargain struck. Since the events took place and demons have been roaming once more in Nemaria and neighbouring countries, Thyis had grown to embrace the monster within and has lost almost all sense of self-control. He has a multitude of she-elves and women he chose to pleasure him when he wants and has taken even more slaves to attend to his needs. After so long of being starved, he is making the most of every minute as he has a feeling that it will come to an end sooner or later. In fact, a part of him almost welcomes the day that his curse is brought to an end. But he isn't going to go easily and is going to make the most of now before he reaches the end of the line. He has allied himself to the Unseelie court though in no way serves them or feels the need to protect them if it should come to it. They mutually benefit each other, but that's all. |
